I'm glad my town switched to single stream recycling. They take essentially everything that isn't food stained or non-recyclable plastic. I have 2 curbside collection containers, one 65 gallon for trash and a 90 gallon for recyclables. My recyclable one is packed every week, but I might put out the trash every 3rd week.

While I would not disagree with much of what you say, the only real bit of misinformation in your piece is the subject of "my taxes" going to pay for this. The US Postal Service has been self sufficient and subsidy free since the Postal Reform Act of the early 70's. Otherwise I did enjoy you rant.

I was glad to see that there are ways to find out about the various scores, if you will, of offsets. But my thing about offsets is that I don't think enough of your average people will see them as valid investments, if that makes sense. What do you think?

Incidentally, they do have an expresss lane. It's just that it was closed yesterday. :)

Oh, and they've got a vending machine, too, for things like stamps. I hear it's gone on strike.
